Clearing the Way to Prosperity: Dissolving Reiki Business Blocks
When it comes to building a Reiki business (or any business, for that matter) there’s one thing that’s guaranteed – it will bring up your blocks around business, entrepreneurship, and money. Before we start, let’s talk about what these “blocks” even are. Business blocks are energetic barriers that disrupt the flow of abundance to you, and they can manifest in a variety of ways. Blocks start internally, through limiting beliefs: think, impostor syndrome, scarcity mentality, and subconscious negative beliefs about money, for example. As someone wise once said, “As within, so without”. If you’re experiencing an inner financial block, chances are you’ve also got a physical one manifesting in the outside world. These can be things like lower sales than you’d hoped, or fewer clients. Maybe your visibility and engagement on social media is a little lackluster.
But here’s the good news: Reiki is an amazing tool for dissolving blocks! Reiki can help us identify where we’re blocked, support us in shifting our thoughts and beliefs, and ultimately clear the energetic pathways to allow us to experience more prosperity and ease.
In our experience, the main steps to releasing any blocks are:
1. Acknowledge
See your blocks as they are. Do you have any preexisting limiting beliefs about money or abundance? It can be anything: You might subconsciously believe that people who have money are inherently untrustworthy or bad; you might believe that you are undeserving of abundance. These beliefs were likely passed on to you at a young age and internalized as your own. But make no mistake: They aren’t yours, and they can change.
2. Process
Journal. Talk it over with someone you trust. Aim to understand why you have this limiting belief or block. Get ready to let it go.
3. Release
Move away from the beliefs and energies that are holding you back. How? There’s no one-size-fits-all approach, but here are some techniques that have worked for us:
- Meditation and mindfulness with Reiki
- Journaling and burning the pages (safely, please!)
- Receiving a focused Reiki session to release energetic blocks
- EFT Tapping
- Grounding techniques
- Forest bathing (some of our practitioners offer this!)
- Sessions with a trusted therapist

4. Fortify
Now that you’ve overcome these blocks, it’s time to strengthen your positive, healed mindset. Remember that limiting beliefs, and blocks in general, are often ingrained habits. The best way to overcome the habit? To notice those limiting thoughts whenever they come up, and to mentally release them each time. Simply choose to think about something better, instead.
Imagine this: Your mind is racing. You’ve had a stressful day, there’s less money in the bank than you would like, and those beliefs start in on you. You’ve done the work to heal them so they’re less frequent now, but they occasionally still affect you in stressful moments.
So, say you start thinking about how things will always be this way, and you will never be as financially free as you would like. You start spiraling. The thoughts keep coming, each one more depressing or anxiety-inducing than the last. At some point, you realize what you’re doing. And you just take a deep breath and… Stop.
Now, the advice here is not to ignore your feelings. Times may be hard, and your feelings are valid, so you should take the time you need to process them. But it’s important to realize when you are headed in a trauma-fueled, unproductive direction, and when it’s time to intercept your thoughts.
Some people like to visualize gently pushing those thoughts away with a feather and a “thank you, but you’re not needed here.” But there are many ways to move on. You might recite a mantra, exercise or shake to ground yourself, or anchor into the breath. Whatever method you choose, know that you decide what you are capable of – Not the little voice in your head. You’ve got this.
